CCC Youth & Family Mental Health Peer Advocate Program

September Information Sessions


We invite young adults, parents, and community members who are passionate about mental health and community wellbeing to become trained peer advocates. Participants will receive professional training, develop practical support skills, and gain opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Program Information

  • Evening Sessions
    • September 9, 6:00–9:00 PM,  CCC -11 Avis Dr, Latham, NY 12110
    • September 23, 6:00–9:00 PM,  CCC -11 Avis Dr, Latham, NY 12110

  • Who Can Apply
    • Youth Peer Advocates (ages 18–30) with lived experience of mental health challenges
    • Family Peer Advocates who are parents or caregivers supporting children facing mental health challenges


Training Benefits

Participants will gain professional skills and receive stipends as they progress through the credentialing pathway:

Step 1: Complete Level 1 Credentialing – $250 stipend
Step 2: Earn Provisional Credential – $500 stipend
Step 3: Begin Employment as Peer Advocate – $1,500 stipend

The program is supported through the New York State Peer Advocates Workforce Development Initiative and implemented in partnership with Vanderheyden and the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Community members interested in becoming advocates or learning more are encouraged to attend the information session.
