RPI-CCC Seminar Series on September 28th, Sunday
Dear CCC members and friends,
The CCC is pleased to announce the collaboration with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) for a series of seminars on higher education. The first seminar will be presented by officials from RPI Admission Office, the Lally Business School, and the International Advancement Office. It is aimed to demystify selective criteria and procedures of college admission and to introduce the importance of an advanced management degree to career success. This FREE seminar is generously sponsored by RPI and trimmed to benefit Asian communities in general and CCC members in particular. Below please find the detailed information.

Announcement from CCC Chinese School Principal
1) The tentative starting date for the fall semester school year of 2008-2009 is: Sunday, September, 7th, 2008.
2) Staff meeting: the first staff meeting for school year of 2008-2009 will be on Saturday, Aug 23rd, 2008. The schedule of the meeting is:
11:00-12:00: staff meeting,
12:00-1:00pm: potluck lunch.
Location: CCC building.
3) Teacher candidates needed: Due to various situations, some of the teachers who taught last year will be unable to continue their teaching. we need teacher candidates for the following classes:
XQ-1;
JTZW1-1;
JTMLP1-1;
JT8-2;
CFL-C2;
Chess-1;
Chess-2.

CCC Member and Biologist Ceshi Chen Received $960,000 Research Fund
CCC member, Ceshi Chen, a cell biologist at the college's Center for Cell Biology and Cancer Research, received $960,000 to investigate a mutated gene often found in breast cancer patients.
