What the CCC Volunteers Said :

"My experience at the WMHT station auction site was truly educational and enjoyable. It provided me a chance to meet new people- both regular workers and other volunteers like myself. As a display worker, we constantly had to use artistic skills to present the items going up for auction." ----a youth group member

"This was my first time participating at the WMHT auction site. It was a fascinating experience to see how the live TV show is produced. It also provided CCC a great opportunity for exposure. I was in the confirmation group. As an engineer, the opportunity to experience Tele-marketing is not something one can get easily. To make courteous and responsive phone calls one after another, answer unexpected questions, see how people bid for different products, visit the studio to see the process... are fun parts which will draw me back again next year."--- a confirmation volunteer

"We were very proud that we helped WMHT local Ch. 17 auction again on April 28, 2001. Thirty-two CCC volunteers participated in bid-taking, sorting, running, posting, confirmation, hospitality, display, and as floaters. Interviewed by Channel 17 staff on air, CCC President introduced our Chinese School, CCC website, and a variety of CCC activities including the Chinese New Year Celebration. H Wang and R Yao worked on air as the Guest Auctioneers. It was a fun and challenging experience for both of them. Our volunteers had a wonderful evening both working with professional TV staff and making friends at this special event. Seeing our volunteers wearing CCC T-shirts and working on the air, we have to say proudly that we will do it again next year."---An on-camera volunteer
