Roundtable: Applying to Colleges

Participants: : Four high school seniors in CCC who will enter colleges in Sept. 2006

Place: 11 Avis Drive, Latham, NY
Cost: Free

Organizers: Jean Qiao (Niskayuna High) and Joy Cheung

Topics of discussion:

campus visits, time management during the senior year to complete the applications, single sex college or co-ed, location of school, number of colleges applied to, AP, SAT, extra curricular activities in high school, SAT preparation classes, reference letters, other attachments, writing essays, proof-reading, early action/early decision, interviews with college alumni/admissions officers, and choosing the school after having received more than one acceptance letters.

The high school seniors will share with juniors and sophomores their experiences in applying to and getting admitted into the colleges of their choices.

Do not miss this opportunity to listen to the CCC big brothers and big sisters, and ask your questions.

Parents are welcome to attend.
